When the sun went down in Sevilla

I met the devil down in Sevilla
I had the flue it made me shiver
He said “come on son” and grabbed my hand
“we’ll have a ride upon the river

Then we moved around in circles
I hear the captain’s voice still singing
It was “the seven bridges river” song
And the bells of hell were ringing

And then the sun went down in Sevilla
The blood red sky was on fire
Signs on the walls and in windows
Said “wanted dead or alive”

And when the sun went down in Sevilla
The blood red sky was on fire
I was scared to hell in Sevilla
I thank God that I’m still alive

We watched the coachman selling tickets
On the side of the Spanish Square
Andalusian ladies walking by
Black roses in their hair

And when I asked him where we were going
Then he said to my surprise
I got only one way tickets sir
For a trip to paradise

Shaking and trembling
tossing and turning in Spain
